FALL NUTRITION - Thanksgiving Detox

Published By Nutrition with Kimberly & Newport Boxfit

We all like to indulge over the holidays and even with everything that is going on right now this year is no different. We may be gathering in smaller groups but there is still plenty of food to go around. This time of year is about family and friends and giving thanks but as we all know it is also about food, and lots of it! We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving festivities but we wanted to give you some natural detox foods & drinks your body will love to get you back on track. Enjoy!

Lemons & Lemon Juice

Lemons are renowned for their detoxing properties! Drink lemon water at the beginning of the day for particularly effective results!

Grapefruit

Too much Thanksgiving drinking? Grapefruit will clear fats from your liver and help with fiber intake.

Cayenne Pepper Tea

Adding spices to your tea may seem weird, but it is often used to flush the body of toxins.

Pineapple Water

Pineapple water is supposed to help you curb your appetite and knock out sugar cravings.

Green Tea

Benefit from antioxidants and kick those free radicals to the curb with green tea.

Kale

Flush out those kidneys with kale, it’s a must-have if you’re attempting a natural detox. You can use it in soups, salads, or smoothies.

Lemongrass

In your tea or food! Lemongrass can flush out not only your kidneys, but your digestive tract and bladder as well, also helps with complexion!

Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass will have you feeling awesome, cleanse your liver, and will also lower your blood sugar! Not to mention, wheatgrass has been known to boost metabolisms, so that is an added bonus when pushing through the holidays.

Water

Drinking adequate amounts of water will curb hunger, clear your complexion, boost energy, and help your digestive system run better. Plus, it’ll help rehydrate you after all that salt and butter in the leftovers you’ve been enjoying.
